remembering those we’ve lost

As a mother, artist, human, and empath, I cannot imagine anything more tragic than losing a loved one. I don’t believe there’s anything more powerful than love and really, grief is all the love we feel that we can’t give anymore (not my quote).

I have volunteered for many tribute projects to honor those who have passed in an effort to give a few moments of peace and love to the people that cared for them (both with photography and art). While I can’t volunteer all of my projects like this, I do put every bit of my heart in every image I create. If you want to celebrate your person’s life or help your grieving process, let’s talk. I would love to help you in some small way.

The group of images above mean so much to me. In 2017 my grandmother lost her husband of nearly 50 years. He was the love of her life and she struggles with his absence every day. My heart hurts for her so I wanted to give her images to help her grieve the loss, while also embracing the fact that he's still here, even if we can't see him. The images where he joins her are full of love and I know it brought her a few moments of peace.

(The piece of wood she's holding features an image of my grandfather.)
